Send SMS with ActiveCampaign – Guni SMS

With Guni SMS app, you can now send automated SMS from ActiveCampaign when a trigger takes place.

This article will guide you through steps on how to connect your account and send SMS.

1. Login to you Active Campaign
  1. 1. On your ActiveCampaign dashboard, create an Automation.
  2. 2. Once you enter the flow builder, you will be required to select a trigger. Add a trigger and click ‘Continue’ to proceed.
  3. 3. To add Send SMS action, look for CX Apps and select ‘Send SMS using GuniSMS
You will then be required to enter your Guni SMS account credential.

After connecting, compose your SMS.


Select  Sender ID from the list.  Following are the options for sender IDs

  • Shared number  – Free numbers of the pool. A shared number pool is used by other customers. The system assigned the number to your message and removed after some hours.
  • Dedicated number  –  It is a unique phone number for a specific business and it is exclusively for your use and involves a monthly subscription fee.
  • Business Name –  Add your brand name as the sender and get your audience excited. You can add up to 11 characters.
  • Own number – You can use your number. This is the number that you account verification.

  • Compose Message – as per the business requirement with personalisation

Click Finish

Toggled your automation in ‘Active’ on the top right corner of the platform so it would run every time the trigger takes place.


If you’re having problems, please check the following:

  1. Check your Authentication. It should be using your GuniSMS Token key –
  2. Make sure you have credit in your balance. Check here and top up credit
  3. Fill in all required parameters. Required params are phone numbers of contacts and message body in the SMS setup


  1. Can I send messages using Alpha Tag Sender ID?
    – Yes, add the sender – here and use the dropdown list from ActiveCampaign
  2. Where can I get replies to my messages?
    – Replies are not currently supported within ActiveCampaign. Find your outbound and inbound SMS Guni history here.
  3. Do you handle opt outs in ActiveCampaign?
    -Yes, opt-outs are managed in Guni SMS, if a user sends the STOP back to your message – Optuput list.
